Bah!

I haven't blogged here for SIX MONTHS - and not because I don't feel enthusiastic about it. It's that I've been off work on medical leave with a neck injury and horrible headaches. I'm only back half-time even now, but I hope to get back to the regular blogging very soon. It's almost as though the universe is conspiring against me with this book. Finally, after all the work I had a really successful launch - selling over 200 books within the first week. Then all hell broke loose and I won't bore you with the details. So now I'm thinking about finding a traditional publisher and basically starting all over again, since my marketing plan that was detailed down to the day is pretty much out the window.

I had a great workshop at the "Emerging to Where" event sponsored by Emerging Spirit. Both my workshops were full, and I sold a lot of books that day. The participants had great questions. It was awesome to hear Diana Butler-Bass and get to chat with her personally, even if only briefly. It was also fun to talk with her husband, Richard Bass who is Director of Publishing at the Alban Institute. I told him I have another book in me - on congregational leadership - just screaming to get out. Unfortunately, I've spent a little too much time lately screaming in general - what with the pain and frustration.

Tomorrow or the next day I shall blog something of worth. Meanwhile, it's good to be back at the keyboard.
