Today I learned that my good friend of fifteen years died tragically in a hot-air balloon crash. Her beautiful daughter, the same age as my two daughters, died as well. It was her 50th birthday, and the whole family - husband, wife and two daughters, went on the balloon ride together. Her husband is in serious condition in hospital, and their other daughter is stable in Vancouver General Hospital burn unit.
Theirs was a very close (and very large) family, and they had a huge circle of friends. Everyone in is shock and grief.
I won't post their names, as not everyone in their circle of friends knows of the news yet.
For all I have learned and written about how to bring about change, that for which we wish and pray for the most is beyond all human control.
